Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is an ancient and still very vital holistic system of health and healing, based on the notion of harmony and balance, and employing the ideas of moderation and prevention. TCM is a complete system of health care with its own unique theories of anatomy, health and treatment. It emphasizes diet and prevention and herbal medicine, using acupuncture, massage, and exercises; and focused on stimulating and the body natural curative powers.

TCM and Western medicine adopt different viewpoints and methods to conduct research and explore the science of human life patterns. In comparison with Western medicine and modern science, the basic characteristics of TCM theory are abstract and indistinct. However, the continuous process from specific to abstract and abstract to actual in the formation and development of the theory of TCM is the work of countless doctors over thousands years.

Nowadays, with the increasing trend of alternative medicine, including research in TCM and the popular topic on returning to nature, it is believed that Chinese herbs, acupuncture, Chinese massage are making great contributions towards Man's health and longevity.

Health is more than just the absence of disease and it has a unique capacity to maintain and enhance our capacity for well being and happiness. In TCM, both philosophically and medically, moderation in all things is advocated, as is living in harmony with nature and striving for balance in all things. Prevention is also a key goal of Chinese medicine, and much emphasis is placed on educating the patient to live responsibly.
